CEE Clean Energy Awards recognizes innovation, boldness and vision in CEE’s renewables and clean-energy sector

The 3rd annual CEE Clean Energy Awards Gala & Summit is set for 9 June, 2016 at Warsaw’s InterContinental Hotel.

In addition to awarding top companies in the sector, such as wind and solar energy producers and developers (as well as natural gas), the 3rd annual CEE Clean Energy Awards recognizes top energy traders and service providers like engineering firms, law firms, and investment bankers.

In a challenging geopolitical environment, the countries of Central and Eastern Europe are in a strategic position to influence Europe’s energy future. With dramatic price disruptions, emerging competitors and a growing demand for energy, CEE’s clean energy sector must address issues such as grid development and interconnections, global technological changes driving the sector, strategic alliances, and erratic clean-energy subsidies and regulations.

The Awards represent a cross-sector of clean energy firms, ranging from natural gas producers and distributors (LNG), wind, solar, and biogas/biomass developers, and grid and network operators. The Awards also recognize new types of competitors, particularly energy traders, and other „asset-light” companies, and the full range of service providers – operational, financial and professional.

While carbon-based energy companies are not included in our definition of “clean”, technologies and innovations that reduce emissions related to coal and oil are welcome.

With more than 250 clean-energy execs expected from across the CEE region and investors from western Europe, US and Scandinavia, the CEE Clean Energy Awards will celebrate the contribution of companies, projects, and individuals who are leading the dynamic and fast-paced changes in the region’s clean energy sector.

11:15 – 12:30 Interdependence and Independence in CEE’s Gas Transmission Sector

Issues to be addressed by panelists: EU Energy Union – impact on CEE; North-South Energy corridor; Cross-border grid connections: Germany-Poland; Lithuania-Poland; Slovakia-Hungary; Romania.
