Prof. Leszek Jesień became a member of the Supervisory Board of TSCNET

Professor Leszek Jesień, Director of the Department of International Cooperation PSE, was elected to  the Supervisory Board of TSCNET Services GmbH. The new post will be held for more than 3 years, until 31 December 2020.

Leszek Jesień is an associate professor at Collegium Civitas, where he has been a head of the Institute of  International Relations and Sustainable Development for the past few years. He holds a PHD at the Polish Academy of Sciences. He is an expert on energy policy of European Union and Poland. He gained his professional experience in the field of energy while cooperating with, among others, PSE Innovations, Gas-Trading, Empower Energy, EDF Polska, BPI Polska and Gaz System. He manages the Department of International Cooperation in PSE from May, 2016.

TSCNET Services

TSCNET Services GmbH is a company which services include technical support of transmission system operators in operational planning processes as well as support within development and implementation of new regional processes. TSCNET is, within the meaning of the System Operation Guideline (SO GL), one of the Regional Security Coordinators (RSC). According to Capacity Allocation and Congestion Management (CACM) and System Operation Guideline (SO GL) Regulations, five regional processes will be implemented within RSC: building of common grid models, security analysis, transmission capacity calculation, outage planning and  adequacy assessment.

13 European transmission system operators are shareholders of TSCNET Services: 50HzT (Germany), Amprion (Germany), APG (Austria), ČEPS (Czech Republic), ELES (Slovenia), Energinet.dk (Denmark), HOPS (Croatia), MAVIR (Hungary), PSE SA (Poland), Swissgrid (Switzerland), TenneT TSO (Germany), TenneT TSO (Netherlands) and TransnetBW (Germany).

PSE S.A. is the Polish transmission system operator. The Company is an ownership of the State Treasury, of particular importance to the Polish economy. The scope of PSE responsibility is defined by the Energy Law Act.

PSE ensures transmission of electricity to all regions of the country. The Company is responsible for balancing the transmission system as well as maintaining and developing the network infrastructure, along with cross-border interconnections. The Company also makes available, on a market basis, transmission capacities for the realization of cross-border exchanges.

PSE owns over 14,000 km of lines and over 100 extra high voltage power stations.
